London Walk from West to East

London Walk from West to East

16 August 2025, 10.45

London

BOOK FOR THIS WALK

Bereaved parent and TCF volunteer Terry is running a supportive London Walk from West to East on Saturday 16 August 2025.

Terry writes:

Our walk will begin at Paddington Station**, and I will be there from 10.45 am. Please ensure you arrive in time for an 11 am prompt start. We will walk around Paddington canal basin, to Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, past the grand houses of Notting Hill and Holland Park, and then into Holland Park itself. All the parks should be looking magnificent, however when in Holland Park we will visit a hidden gem, the beautiful & serene Kyoto gardens with its Japanese inspired landscape.

At lunch there will be the option of cafes or places to enjoy a picnic if you prefer.

We should finish at about 4 pm at High Street Kensington (near the tube station) where there will be the option of a well-deserved drink or from there you can start your onward journey home. There may even still be time for a spot of shopping or (window shopping) at the iconic Harrods.

There is a lot to see and we will be covering a distance of approximately 5 miles at a steady pace. This walk is not suitable for those who require walking aids or who might find the pace too demanding. It is important for everyone’s safety and enjoyment that we stay together as a group. As this is an urban walk, places will be limited to 30 people for safety of all walkers so please book early if you would like to be with us.

We ask that you wait until you have been bereaved for at least 3 months before joining our supportive walks. New walk dates are regularly added, and we hope to welcome you at a future walk.

Our peer support is for parents bereaved of a child from one month old to an adult son or daughter, from any cause. We also offer support to bereaved grandparents and adult siblings (aged 18+)

Please call our Helpline on 0345 1232304 or email helpline@tcf.org.uk for support.

We look forward to seeing those who have walked with us before, and to welcome those who are joining us for the first time.

If you haven’t walked with us yet, please don’t feel daunted or anxious about joining. You’ll quickly find yourself part of a warm, friendly and supportive community of others who have experienced similar bereavements.

**A welcome email will be sent out approximately one week before the walk, providing additional information and details about the meeting and lunch point. This email will come from info@tcf.org.uk, so please keep an eye out for it. (It may sometimes end up in junk or spam folders, so please check there if you’ve registered and haven’t received the email.)

Please remember, if you bring a friend or relative for initial support, they will not be able to join the walk itself unless they are also a bereaved parent, grandparent, or adult bereaved sibling.

As this is a supportive walk, we ask that you stay together as a group for the duration of the walk.

Please note that individuals join a TCF walk at their own risk.
