TCF News, Autumn 2021

Autumn 2021 - TCF Newsletter | www.tcf.org.uk 2 With the hope of increasing the number of TCF walks around the whole of the UK, in June this year, Terry ran an online session and Q&A for any volunteer or bereaved parent or sibling interested in leading a walk for our charity. During his evening talk, he shared his knowledge and experience of planning and leading walks for the bereaved. Although as Terry said ‘it’s not rocket science’, there are some key aspects of running TCF walks that are useful to take into account and helps these informal events to be as successful, accessible, inclusive and supportive for all. If you are interested in finding out more about leading a TCF walk and would like to view the recording of Terry’s session please get in touch with our national office on 0345 1203785 or info@tcf.org.uk and we can send you the link. Inspired by the success of the London walks, and after coming along to Terry’s online talk, bereaved parents and TCF volunteers, David and Fiona Chamberlin, planned and ran a countryside walk in the beautiful area close to their own home – on the Wales/Shropshire border. Over the page they have written a short report about their experience of organising their first TCF. The 4th walk this year in London took place in August. Titled From West to East, walkers began at Paddington Station, took a route through Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, past the grand houses of Notting Hill and into Holland Park where the highlight was a visit to the beautiful Kyoto Japanese Garden, described as a ‘tranquil oasis of calm’. Save the date! The next walk led by Terry is on Saturday the 18th September. For more details and to register visit tcf.org.uk/walksept2021 Passport to Pimlico…and Chelsea – June
