TCF News, Spring 2021

Spring 2021 - TCF Newsletter | www.tcf.org.uk 11 How You Can Help TCF’s fundraising income is down this year in line with many charities as nearly all challenge events have been cancelled and people are faced with their own economic challenges. However, if you can, please consider supporting TCF. Here are a few ways you can help. AmazonSmile If you’re doing more shopping online at the moment, please think about supporting TCF by shopping at AmazonSmile. You are able to shop exactly the same way as on amazon.co.uk , but Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to TCF. Go to smile.amazon.co.uk/ch/1082335-0 At the end of 2020 Amazon had donated a total of: • £699.27 to The Compassionate Friends These donations can really make a difference to us so please sign up – and please encourage all your family and friends to use the link when they are ordering from Amazon. This is particularly important at this time when so much is being purchased online. Maybe send them a message or email with the link today! What does your employer do about supporting charities? Please do consider speaking to a relevant person at your place of work about how TCF might be considered for support by the charity committee or even as charity of the year. It may be someone in human resources or corporate affairs. Also, your employer may be interested in knowing about the support that TCF gives to bereaved parents so they can provide information to those employees who lose a child. Virtual London Marathon TCF has 5 places in the virtual London Marathon on Sunday 3rd October. If you’d like to be considered for one of these places, please email stephen@tcf.org.uk to find out more. Facebook Fundraising Create a Facebook birthday (or any kind of) fundraiser – you can set it up from our Facebook page at @ www.tcf.org.uk Leaving a legacy Finally, if you are thinking about writing your will and considering leaving a bequest to charities, please do think about TCF. You will truly leave a lasting legacy to benefit future bereaved parents and their families. Please visit www.tcf.org.uk/legacy to find out more.
