We began in February with a weekend in Somerset, close to Bath, for 50 parents in early bereavement followed in May by the Scottish Gathering at Stirling Court Hotel and the overnight retreat for bereaved adult siblings at the Woodbrooke Centre in Birmingham. It was fantastic to get back to being together in person. We asked some of the attendees to share with us their reflections on these supportive weekends. “A wonderful experience which I would encourage anyone to do” Carol, shared her reflections on her first ever Compassionate Friends weekend – held at The Ammerdown Centre near Bath last February - where she joined other parents also in the first months and years of their loss. “Firstly, a big thank you to all the volunteers for giving their time, compassion and sharing stories of sadness alongside the hope that we all so desperately seek. Also to everyone who had an input in organising behind the scenes to make the weekend run smoothly, it was very well organised. Thank you! Retreats return
