National Bereaved Parents Day 2023
Elizabeth and her daughter
"What has helped me in the last 14 months since my beautiful daughter died is The Compassionate Friends support group that I belong to, and the walks that the lovely Terry organises in London.
The support group, along with my bereavement counsellor, have been a lifeline for me and, without them, I don’t know how I would have coped".
"My support group meets in Greenwich Park bi-monthly for an informal walk in the park, and also meets in Deptford bi-monthly for a group session in a lovely space. Meeting other bereaved parents (mostly mothers) whose children have died of suicide has been both extremely painful (seeing others in so much pain) and truly supportive (as only they can understand our complex grief).
I’ve also really enjoyed the wonderful walks I have been on and meeting other parents who are also bereaved". - Elizabeth
