Services: Bridgend Voice and Choice (BVC) is the primary access point for individuals seeking advocacy support in Bridgend County Borough. BVC aims to connect individuals and professionals with qualified advocates who protect rights and express views, wishes, and feelings. Advisers on the BVC helpline can provide information and advice on advocacy, can advise on entitlement to advocacy based on care and support needs, and can signpost and refer to relevant advocacy services and other specialist services.

Standing together, united against suicide are Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) and are taking a stand against suicide. That means standing against feeling rubbish, standing up to stereotypes, and standing together to show life is always worth living. 125 lives are lost every week to suicide. And 75% of all UK suicides are male. They exist to change this and do it by provoking conversation, running life-saving services, and bringing people together so they reject living miserably, get help when they need it and don’t die by suicide.

Grief Encounters is a peer support group for LGBTQ people in Sussex who have experienced a bereavement. Many LGBTQ people face a number of additional challenges when it comes to bereavement, in addition to universal experiences of grief, pain and sadness. Grief Meets are our monthly informal meetings. The groups explore a particular theme each month, usually using a creative outlet, and are an opportunity to meet with others and explore our grief.
