By Gill Hartley

A Companion for Bereaved Parents and their Families. Forward by Michael Rosen (TCF Patron) and illustrated by Diane Brazier

The author writes..."I wrote this book intending it to be what I call a “bedside” book that can be picked up and dipped into at any time. It tells the story of Will, our only child who died in 2006 from a mystery illness at the age of 22. There are contributions, both prose and poetry from published writers and poet and from other bereaved parents, including members of TCF. There is a chapter devoted to TCF and the story behind how it came to be the organisation it is today. I do not believe in the “Stages of Grief” but have divided the book into sections which I believe touches on the different emotions we feel as we travel along this endless road.

All royalties and sales revenues are donated to The Compassionate Friends, who provided both my husband, Edwin and me with a lifeline".

Gill writes regularly for the TCF journal, Compassion, and is the author of two books, My True Son and Aspects of Loss
